NOTES: Much Ado 2/20 run
Much Ado notes for 2/20 run
Messenger - VOLUME
Bea - Good ‘pop’ of the book
Messenger - more good natured, playful (when Bea steals your cap)
Don’t put the hat back on before announcing the soldiers are approaching
Conrad - trim the beard
Antonio - Slow down, VOLUME
Marg/Urs - good looking confused when Leo starts talking about what to do
Bora - more of a stereotypical ‘stoner’ laugh (I am certain youtube has options)
Bora/Sunny/Conrad - have to hit the Charlie’s Angels pose
Bea - slow down in the scene right before the masquerade ball
Hit all three (woo/wed/repent)
CAST - Nice on the dance - Nailed the ‘Travolta’
Balthazar - Can you get your first line to Margret out in one go? Too disjointed and breaks up the flow.
Bora/Conrad/Sunny - Dance costumes (REMINDER)
Bora - stress ‘MARRY’ in ‘…MARRY her tonight’
Ben - entered too early during Claudio’s monologue
Ben - watch diction during the all the jobs you ask DP to send you on (everything leading up to HARPY)
Bea - Consider Don Pedro’s offer of marriage for a beat or two
Let him down gently (kind of risky how a PRINCE might react to that news
Exit Up Center on ‘cousins, grant you…’
Bora - Where was the remote control
We are going to cut the ‘sponsored by’ slide
Marg/Urs - nice job with chairs. Nailed it.
Baltha - song is improving, but keep working on it. Definitely going the right direction
Garden Scene 1 - Solid, you guys crushed it. Looked like you were having fa great time
Even the leaf bits Oz ad libbed were funny.
Bea - “...If you have no stomach..” means “If you don’t want to come in, fine by me. That’s your problem Ben”
Bea - WALK with a slow ‘bounce’ in your step, don’t actually hop
You can stop about half way for a line or two (leaving the image of you and the hat center)
Hero - VOLUME
Urs - great projection tonight
Bea- Start mono with hat on (what fire is in mine…
Take hat off after ”...Benedick, LOVE ON!!” Spread arms - hat in one hand and magazine in the other
DP/Leo/Claud/Ben - the scene in the study (before DG’s entrance) was off
His was glaring after how well the garden scene went
Dog - ..bless YOU… (hit YOU the second time you repeat the line to Sunny
Verges - tighten up your cues. That scene needs to keep up its pacing
Dog - open up the trench coat
Salem - VOLUME
***TONIGHT you will have a full 15 minute intermission***
Marg/Hero - VOLUME
Marg - great playfulness with the dress. Nice work
Verges - why were you late?
Shalom - different costume for scene with Leo/Dog. I think Miller is pulling one for you
BEA, LEO, HERO - SLOW DOWN DURING THE WEDDING MARCH.
Sexton - I believe Miller is pulling a robe for you to wear over your costume for the interrogation scene
Watch - You should have other clothes to wear to the wedding. You can’t be in the watch costumes as you learn about the events of the wedding during the interrogation scene
WEDDING - There was a problem with cues after DP/DG/Claudio leave
Leo - “Let her DIE!” Make that a pronouncement, a judge passing a sentence
Friar - VOLUME on monologue
Ben - don’t look down during Friar’s monologue (it looks like the actor is checked out)
Hero - you were very sad. Good job
Bea - better with the crying in the chapel scene after the wedding
Bea - try placing your hand on Ben’s when he touches your cheek
Dog - let Bora/Conrad get the ‘finger tickle’ bit in
Clean up the umbrella bit
Loose the hat. I think it is throwing of your timing and spacing (face to face with Bora)
Keep the sad umbrella drag
Antonio - VOLUME
React to Leo/claudio
Keep working on the fight. Movements need to be specific and consistent
Good running out of steam during your fight
Bora/Conrad/Dog/Verges - We are cutting the handcuffs
ABBY - LOOK AT ASPEN AND SAVY!!!!
Claudio - reminder, try looking up and out during your contrition to help with the volume
Marg - flirt more with Ben “sonnet for my beauty”
Ben & Bea - better moment on the stairs
Bea - “For them all together” deliver that line towards the lights/balcony. You are so content you don’t need to look at Ben for that
Friar - Don’t react to the Hero reveal. It was your plan!
CROWD - Nice reactions to B&B’s final ‘fight’
Good with the AAWWW! At the poetry reveal
CURTAIN CALL - Jax, can miss your bow. Slides with names on them are running like credits
DOGBERRY - cut the mouth bob during the bow.
